On April 1, 2020, representatives of the University attended the twenty-ninth bargaining session with the union committee representing graduate student assistants. The bargaining session was held via video conference.
The parties discussed concerns raised by the Union related to COVID-19.
The University presented revised proposals on Arbitration and Management Rights.
The Union presented revised proposals on Health and Safety, Vacation, Workload, and Union Access and Rights. The Union also presented revised proposals on Recognition and Fee and Tuition Waivers to be considered together, and revised proposals on Tax Assistance, Retirement, Transportation, and Family Friendly Benefits to be considered together. The Union withdrew its proposal on EAP.
The parties discussed the proposals on Vacation and Workload.
The University rejected the union’s revised proposal on Fee and Tuition Waivers.
The University reiterated the need to discuss the Union’s economic proposals as a whole and to have all of the other issues resolved before addressing economics.
