On June 22, 2020, representatives of the University attended the thirty-eighth bargaining session with the union committee representing graduate student assistants. The bargaining session was held via video conference.
The Union raised concerns related to the impact of the COVID-19. The parties discussed the concerns raised.
The University presented revised proposals on Grievance and Arbitration and Union Activity and Access. The University presented its revised proposals as part of a comprehensive offer of settlement, noting that proposed articles from the Union addressing matters not included in the offer of settlement should be considered rejected by the University. The Union presented revised proposals on Appointments, International Student Worker Rights, and Union Access and Rights.
The parties discussed the differences between their proposals on Appointments, and the University presented a revised Appointments proposal marked final. The parties also discussed the differences between their proposals on Union Access and Rights.
The next bargaining session is scheduled for June 26, 2020.
