On June 26, 2020, representatives of the University attended the thirty-ninth bargaining session with the union committee representing graduate student assistants. The bargaining session was held via video conference.
The Union raised concerns related to the impact of the COVID-19 and the impact of a recent Executive Order on international student visas. The parties discussed the concerns raised.
The University presented revised proposals on UnionActivity and Access marked final and No Strike/No Lockout. The University suggested focusing the negotiations on moving toward tentative agreements on several outstanding proposals including Union Access and Activity, Vacations, Grievance and Arbitration, and No Strike/No Lockout.
The Union presented revised proposals on Appointments, Job Posting, and Grievance and Arbitration.
The parties discussed the revised proposals and their Vacations proposals.
The University and the Union reached tentative agreements on Appointments and Workweek.
The next bargaining session is scheduled for July 10, 2020.
