On October 16, 2020, representatives of the University attended the forty-fourth bargaining session with the union committee representing graduate student assistants. The bargaining session was held via video conference.
The Union raised concerns related to COVID-19 and pay issues at the Mailman School of Public Health. The University reported on its advocacy efforts related to international students and meetings with the international student workers group.
The University presented a revised proposal on Job Posting reflecting changes it proposed at the prior session. The Union presented revised proposals on Compensation, Tax Assistance, Retirement, and Transportation as well as a revised proposal on Grievance and Arbitration reflecting the language the University offered from the agreement with CPW-UAW.The parties discussed the revised proposals. The University presented a revised proposal on Retirement in response to the Union’s proposal.
The parties reached a tentative agreement on Job Posting and Grievance and Arbitration.
The next bargaining session is scheduled for October 28, 2020.
